University welcomes pre-service teachers from Indonesia

Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) proudly welcomed pre-service teachers from two of its partner institutions in Indonesia—Universitas Muria Kudus (UMK) and Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM)during the SEA-Teachers Batch 11 Welcome Program held at the AVR N Building on October 16, 2025. Earlier that day, they also made a courtesy visit to the Office of the President.

The event marked the official start of the student exchange under the Southeast Asian Teacher Project (SEA-Teachers), a regional initiative that promotes cross-border teaching experiences and cultural immersion among ASEAN member universities. The program aims to enhance the teaching competencies of future educators while fostering mutual understanding and collaboration across Southeast Asia.

Key officials from ISAT U’s administration, faculty, and student body extended a warm reception to the visiting delegates, emphasizing the university’s unwavering commitment to internationalization, academic excellence, and global engagement.

This program is more than just an exchange of teaching practices—it’s a celebration of diversity, unity, and shared aspirations among ASEAN nations.

The SEA-Teachers program continues to serve as a vital platform for ISAT U to strengthen its international linkages and provide transformative learning experiences for both local and international participants.

NIA Initiates International Professional Lecture

As part of its international academic collaboration, Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) welcomed visiting lecturers from Universitas Muria Kudus (UMK), Indonesia, for an International Professional Lecture that brought together students and faculty from across ISAT U’s campuses. This event was held on October 14 and 16, 2025 at the university Audio Visual Room, N Building.

The lecture was facilitated by the office of the National and International Affairs, the College of Education, and the External Affairs Offices of ISAT U Miagao and Dumangas campuses. The event featured distinguished educators Ms. Lintang Kironoratri, M.Pd., and Ms. Rani Setiawaty, M.Pd. Their lectures focused on innovative teaching practices and cross-cultural educational strategies, offering valuable insights to attendees from various programs within the College of Education.

Participants included students from ISAT U’s main campus, as well as its external campuses in Miagao and Dumangas . The lecture served as a platform for professional development, cultural exchange, and the strengthening of academic partnerships between the two institutions.

This collaboration reflects ISAT U’s commitment to global engagement and its vision of fostering international linkages that enrich the academic experience of both faculty and students. The event marked another milestone in ISAT U’s ongoing efforts to build meaningful partnerships with institutions abroad, paving the way for future joint activities, research endeavors, and faculty exchanges.

COE Celebrates BEED Performance

The College of Education proudly hosted a Testimonial Program at Zuri Hotel on October 16, 2025, to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its graduates who successfully passed the March 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).

This momentous occasion followed a remarkable milestone for Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U), which secured third place nationwide in the school performance rankings, boasting an impressive 96.67% passing rate. The event served not only as a tribute to the new licensed educators but also as a testament to the university’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and teacher education.

During the event, Dr. Gabriel M. Salistre, Jr., ISAT U President, gave 3 challenges to the new educators – to be excellent in everything they do, to be impactful by inspiring their students and to be compassionate to every learner they meet. He also encouraged them to be teachers of integrity. According to him, the true measure of a teacher is not in words but in actions. “Uphold the noble values of our profession  and carry them proudly wherever life takes you.”

This remarkable performance in the Licensure Examination for Teachers filled College of Education Dean Dr. Joel A. Ciriaco with immense pride. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated faculty members, whom he recognized as instrumental in sustainingthe university’s consistent excellence in the licensure exams. Their unwavering commitment to quality education and mentorship continues to shape future educators and uphold ISAT U’s distinguished reputation.

During the program, three exceptional passers took the stage to share their heartfelt journeys toward success in the March 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers. Their stories of perseverance, dedication, and resilience resonated deeply with the audience—especially as two of them achieved outstanding ratings of 91.20 and the other one with 91.40. Their testimonies served as powerful reminders of the transformative impact of quality education and the unwavering support of the College of Education.
