Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) is thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of its BS Biology alumnae, Rhonali Clarisse Amador and Mary Zhenylle Jarloc at the 32nd Philippine Society for Microbiology (PSM) – Visayas Regional Chapter’s Annual Regional Convention and Scientific Meetings at the Iloilo Grand Hotel, on October 23-24, 2025.

Rhonali Clarisse Amador was awarded 1st place in the Oral Research Presentation and Mary Zhenylle Jarloc secured 3rd place in the Poster Presentation, showcasing their exceptional research and presentation skills. Their outstanding work on “Genotypic Profiling of Trichosporon asahii Causing Systemic Infection from CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) Patient Admitted in a Tertiary Hospital” has truly set a new standard under the supervision of Dr. Francis S. Legario. The research project was conducted at the Biotech and Microbiology Laboratories of the Research Services Division of the university.
