Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) has been formally reappointed as a member of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region VI Regional Training Center (RTC) Advisory Council (TAC), representing the academe sector.

The reappointment was marked by the oathtaking ceremony on April 27, 2026, and the 1st TAC meeting attended by ISAT U President Dr. Gabriel M. Salistre, Jr., and Dr. Jeanneth F. Darroca, Dean of the College of Industrial Technology.

The Advisory Council serves as a collaborative body composed of representatives from government, industry, and academia. It plays a crucial role in providing policy advice, labor market intelligence, and strategic guidance to TESDA-administered schools and regional training centers. This partnership ensures that Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs remain aligned with industry demands, helping prevent skills mismatches and continuously raising training standards.

Also present at the event were Ms. Donnabelle F. Sollesta, Acting Chief/Administrator of TESDA RTC-Iloilo, and Ms. Cecilia C. Burdeos, ROD Chief.

Through this reappointment, ISAT U reaffirms its commitment to supporting TESDA’s mission of empowering the Filipino workforce with quality and relevant skills development, further strengthening the academe’s role in shaping a future-ready labor force.
