Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) successfully hosted a two-day seminar-workshop on August 26-27, 2026, aimed at strengthening research and innovation in functional cosmetics.
Held at the TLE Service Center, the event brought together faculty members, researchers, and students to explore the development of cosmetics derived from natural products. The activity provided participants with expert mentorship and an opportunity to transform promising research ideas into scientifically validated and commercially viable products.
During the workshop, participants presented their research concepts and received technical guidance from Balik Scientist Dr. Myra O. Villareal. Through interactive discussions and mentoring sessions, they refined their research proposals, strengthened their scientific approaches, and considered pathways for product development and commercialization.
The seminar-workshop highlighted the importance of collaboration among researchers, academic institutions, and industry stakeholders in advancing sustainable and research-driven cosmetics innovation. It also reinforced ISAT U’s commitment to supporting studies that respond to emerging consumer needs while maximizing the potential of natural resources.
