BEIJING, People’s Republic of China – Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) President Dr. Gabriel M. Salistre Jr. is participating in the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), being held from September 8 to 13, 2026, at Shougang Park in Beijing.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) invited ISAT U to take part in the international event. Organized by the Philippine Embassy in Beijing, the Philippine Pavilion provides a platform for CHED and participating Philippine higher education institutions to promote the country’s higher education sector, establish global connections, and strengthen international partnerships.

Dr. Salistre’s participation provides ISAT U with an opportunity to expand its international linkages, engage with prospective partners, and highlight the University’s commitment to internationalization and academic collaboration.
As part of the visit, Dr. Salistre and Dr. Rene L. Celda, Dean of the College of Industrial Technology, visited the flagship facility of Beifang Automotive Education Group in Beijing. The visit built on the Memorandum of Understanding previously signed between ISAT U and Beifang.
Under the partnership, ISAT U is set to send two faculty members from its Automotive Technology program to Beijing for a two-week intensive training program in October 2026. The training will provide the faculty participants with firsthand exposure to Beifang’s advanced training systems, technical expertise, and state-of-the-art facilities.

The initiative is expected to enhance the capabilities of ISAT U’s Automotive Technology faculty and contribute to the continued improvement of the University’s technology-oriented academic programs.
The visit also opened opportunities for deeper cooperation in faculty development, talent training, equipment integration, and sustainable industry-academe partnerships. These areas of collaboration are expected to strengthen ISAT U’s capacity to provide globally relevant, industry-responsive education.
Through its participation in CIFTIS 2026 and its growing partnership with Beifang, ISAT U continues to advance its internationalization agenda and pursue meaningful collaborations that benefit its faculty members, students, and academic community.
