Student-athletes from across Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) gathered in the spirit of competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship as the ISAT U Intercampus Games 2026 officially got underway on September 25 – 26, 2026.

The intercampus sporting event brought together athletes representing the different ISAT U campuses, providing them with an avenue to showcase their skills, determination, discipline, and passion for sports.

Competitions were held in various sporting events, including Arnis, Athletics, Basketball, Chess, E-Sports (MLBB), Futsal, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Volleyball. Games and matches took place across venues in Miagao, Guimbal, and Iloilo City, bringing student-athletes together in a celebration of athletic excellence and school spirit.

From intense battles on the basketball courts and volleyball courts to strategic matches across the chessboards, competitive races on the track and in the pool, and fast-paced encounters in the virtual arena, each event highlighted the dedication and preparation of ISAT U’s student-athletes.

More than a showcase of athletic ability, the Intercampus Games serve as a platform for fostering camaraderie, teamwork, discipline, and unity among students from different campuses. Through friendly competition, student-athletes gain opportunities to build meaningful connections while representing their respective campuses with pride.

In the end, ISAT U Iloilo City Campus emerged as the over-all champion with 102 golds followed by Miagao Campus in 2^nd place and Barotac Nuevo Campus in in 3^rd place respectively.

The ISAT U Intercampus Games 2026 underscored the university’s commitment to supporting holistic student development and creating opportunities where students can grow not only as athletes but also as responsible, disciplined, and collaborative members of the ISAT U community.

The SILLAG Region 1 Startup Consortium conducted a benchmarking activity with ISAT U KWADRA Technology Business Incubator (TBI), the lead TBI of UMWAD Western Visayas, on September 23, 2026, at the Western Visayas Regional Innovation Hub (iHub), Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U).

The activity provided a platform for the exchange of practices, experiences, and insights on technology transfer, technology commercialization, and startup ecosystem development. Discussions highlighted approaches and strategies in startup incubation, partnership development, program implementation, and the provision of ecosystem support for emerging entrepreneurs and innovators.

As the lead TBI of UMWAD Western Visayas, ISAT U KWADRA TBI shared its experiences and initiatives in nurturing startups and supporting the commercialization of innovations. The benchmarking activity also enabled the SILLAG Region 1 Startup Consortium to gain insights that may contribute to strengthening its own startup incubation and innovation support mechanisms.

Beyond knowledge sharing, the activity served as an avenue for both consortia to identify potential areas for collaboration and strengthen linkages in advancing regional innovation and entrepreneurship.

Ms. Uyen (Freya) Vu, Founder and Director of WBA, along with Ms. Tram (Tracy) Bui, Partnerships Lead, visited ISAT U to explore transformative partnership opportunities aimed at enhancing academic and professional growth.

During the institutional visit, both parties discussed various cross-border initiatives including global internship programs, student immersions, faculty capacity-building efforts, and university-industry linkages.
